The increase in demand for web based services creates demand for constant and high availability for the web based services. When an application performs poorly, user productivity suffers, customers are inconvenienced, and ultimately the bottom line of the business is affected.

In order to prevent application performance problem from affecting the business, system administrators must adopt a proactive approach to application performance management. However, System administrators cannot do this alone. They need an effective tool for monitoring and managing performance of web services. Many traditional tools that are used are unable provide adequate information in short amount of time to convey status of application performance, and often fail to detect application performance problems until it’s too late.
