Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Company (HMFI), one of major Korean insurance companies, is ranked at the 2nd in terms of sales volumes and assets in Korea. HMFI is trying to maximize its profits through the sustainable management along with effective asset management. Despite some seriously tough competition in the fiscal year of 2005, sales of HMFI jumped 6.7% from a year earlier because of the increase of interest profit due to tangible assets growth and investment in higher-yielding financial products.
HMFI is doing its best efforts to maximize company’s profit for its shareholders and stakeholders value. In the fiscal year of 2005, 2.835 of more employees, 16,504 of agents and 13.2% of consultants has been increased and insurance premium amounted to about 3.6 billion dollars. However, net profit was 4.4million dollars (decrease of 35%) due to the deficit in Car Insurance unfortunately. Along with this overall financial growth, HMFI solidified its position in the insurance industry thanks to its stable asset management and market dominance power. As a result, S&P, the world’s foremost provider of independent credit ratings affirmed high credit quality (BBB+ Stable) for HMFI in January 2005. Furthermore, A.M.Best, an American insurance rating agency confirmed ‘A-(Excellent) again in 2005 depending on company’s ability after 2004.
Solution
HMFI needed monitoring tool after integrating dispersed task because it is important to collect and manage various data in real-time. Consistent monitoring of backend system’s performance and service status and root-cause determination about error were also required.
